Why Use Welsh Hardwoods for House Signs & Memorial Plaques
Many question the use of hardwoods, and rightly so in the light of what’s happening in the world’s forests today.
Yet at the same time Wales has over 100 thousand acres of native broadleaved woodland which is slowly dying on it’s feet for want of thinning and protection. Our forefathers understood this, but the 19th century brought cheap imports from tropical rainforests which swamped local markets and led directly to the dereliction of our own woodlands.
